OSHA 10- & 30-hour General Industry Training Course

This course contains the content from both the 10-hour & 30-hour courses.

OSHA recommends Outreach Training Programs as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1910. General industry workers must receive additional training, when required by OSHA standards, on specific hazards of the job. Upon successful completion of the courses, participants will receive OSHA General Industry Outreach DOL course completion cards within 4-8 weeks.

The OSHA General Industry Outreach Training courses have been reviewed and accepted by OSHA for online distribution.

Course Description

The OSHA 10- & 30-hour General Industry Outreach Training Programs were developed by the OSHA Training Institute with the intent to assist employers in training and introducing employees to the basic practices of identifying, reducing, eliminating and reporting hazards associated with their work.

The 10-hour General Industry Outreach Training Program is intended to provide entry-level general industry workers broad awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards on a general industry site. Students will be introduced to OSHA policies, procedures and standards as well as general industry safety and health principles covered in OSHA Act Part 1910. Special emphasis will be placed on areas most hazardous using OSHA standards as a guide.

The OSHA 30-hour General Industry Outreach Training course is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone involved in general industry. Specifically devised for safety directors, foremen, and field supervisors; the program provides complete information on OSHA compliance issues.

Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of these courses, the student will be able to:

State the purpose of the OSH Act and list the functions of OSHA List the OSHA inspection priorities and describe the inspection process Describe the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees under the OSH Act The basic requirements for proper aisle and passageway maintenance Guidelines for identification and protection of floor opening To understand the importance of effective egress fire protection program To know the safe means of Egress to provide fire protection in emergencies from new or old buildings or structures Outline the general requirements for general safety standards Establish the guidelines and requirements for special purpose equipment

State the purpose and functions of OSHA Describe the OSHA inspection process Determine the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees under the OSH Act Determine under which conditions OSHA safety regulations should be implemented Identify the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) to be used under different working conditions Instruct workers on the proper need for and use of recordkeeping regulations Outline the methods of first aid, rescue, and preventative measures to be implemented in case of an accident or emergency

Time to Completion

Once you enroll in the OSHA General Industry Industry Outreach Training courses you will have 6 months to successfully complete the course. If you do not complete the courses in 6 months you will not receive a certificate for course completion.

Testing

All module quizzes require a score of 70 to proceed forward in the course. The final exam also requires a minimum score of 70 to receive a certificate of completion. The final exam may be taken three times if necessary.

Please complete the OSHA survey at the end of the OSHA 10-hour & 30-hour General Industry Outreach courses. If you do not complete the OSHA-mandated course survey within six (6) months from starting the course, we will not be able to issue a DOL card. If the 6 months has elapsed, you will be required to retake the course from the beginning. If you are purchasing this course for your employee, please make them aware of this requirement.
