About This Course
Surface mining presents distinct risks that must be recognized and managed before work begins. This course helps miners, supervisors, and safety personnel identify common surface-mine hazards and apply practical controls that support MSHA Part 46 expectations. You’ll review accident-prevention methods, hazard identification techniques, and emergency response procedures, with guidance on how these elements fit within an employer’s training plan.
Every operation follows an MSHA-approved training plan tailored to site needs. This course can supplement a company’s plan to support annual refresher needs under 30 CFR 46.8, where applicable. Because plans vary, the mine operator is responsible for confirming MSHA compliance and ensuring all required training is completed.
Who Needs MSHA Surface Mining Hazards Training?
This course is designed for mine operators, supervisors, safety personnel, and surface mine workers, whether new to the field or experienced, who need a comprehensive understanding of surface-mine risks, safety practices, and emergency protocols. It provides foundational content that can support an employer’s MSHA training plan.
This course is offered in partnership with Compliance Training Online™, OSHA.com and Compliance Training Online™, are 360training™ companies.
