How to Verify a SST Card?

Before issuing a Site Safety Training (SST) Card 360training.com, Inc. verifies all identity and/or prior training documentation to ensure the student has fulfilled all requirements. All cards issued by 360training.com, Inc. contain a QR Code which can be scanned to verify a student’s eligibility.

However, the validity of a SST training card issued by 360training.com, Inc. can also be verified via email. Please send us the below details along with your request and allow us upto 3-5 business days to verify, process and respond.

How do I get my SST card?

Your SST card will be issued after completing all required hours. Learners must spend the required time in all courses, and score at least a 75% on all quizzes and final exams. Completion Certificate and/or SST Card will not be issued without a photograph and valid identity.

What is Site Safety Training (SST) for Supervisors?

The New York City Department of Buildings (NYC DOB) began requiring Site Safety Training (SST) for construction and demolition workers on certain job sites a few years ago. Site Safety Training is a city-specific program designed to enhance job safety for the construction industry on sites in the five boroughs – anything larger than a 3-family dwelling.

There's one set of training requirements for construction/demolition workers in general – these are the Worker cards. People with certain supervisory responsibilities need a Supervisor SST card, which involves more extensive training.

You need the 62-hour SST Supervisor card if you're a Site Safety Manager, Site Safety Coordinator, Concrete Safety Manager, Construction Superintendent, or a Competent Person designated by the Construction Superintendent.

How Do I Get My SST Supervisor Card?

First, you need to find a DOB-approved training provider like us. Our courses are online and self-paced so that you can complete your requirements whenever and wherever you have the time.

Then you need to make sure that you choose a training package that will give you the appropriate level of training. You need a Supervisor-level card if you're a Site Safety Manager, Site Safety Coordinator, Concrete Safety Manager, Construction Superintendent, or a Competent Person designated by the Construction Superintendent. Everyone else can get a Worker-level card instead.

Once you've completed all the required coursework with a passing grade, your training provider will be able to issue your Site Safety Training card. You'll get a temporary card for printing right away, so you can prove your qualifications while you wait for your permanent SST card by mail.

What Courses Do I Need For My SST Supervisor Card?

To earn your SST Supervisor card, you need to complete a number of required courses, as well as two general electives and two special electives.

The required courses are:

Elective courses are one hour each. The NYC DOB provides a list of acceptable topics for General Electives, including examples like Protection From Sun Exposure and Handling Heavy Materials/Proper Lifting Techniques. The NYC DOB provides a separate list of Specialized Electives, including things like Asbestos/Lead Awareness and Confined Space Entry.

Will My SST Supervisor Card Expire?

Yes. The NYC DOB requires SST cards to be renewed every 5 years. Count 5 years from the issue date, which should be printed on your Supervisor SST card.

The good news is that you won't need to spend as much time renewing your license as you did earning it. As a supervisor, you'll need a 16-hour refresher course before your current card expires to ensure continuous compliance with the law.
